ELITE23 offers clubs a turn-key player retention opportunity providing current college players the ability to come home and play for the club that helped develop and prepare them for collegiate soccer.  Top youth players and former collegiate/professional players round out ELITE23 rosters to offer a one-of-a-kind summer season development experience (1st weekend of June-2nd to the last weekend of July).  Older players mentor younger players and all continue their pursuit of soccer excellence.  ELITE23 fees include professional referee assigning, a professional 4-man referee team per match (center, two assistant referees, and a fourth official), one adidas League mandated match ball per team, 25 Adult Player Registration Fees ($21/player), and ELITE23 operational expenses.

Yellowstone Premier League to Launch YPL ELITE23 in Summer 2023

Cody, WY (June 15, 2022) – The Yellowstone Premier League is pleased to announce the region’s most professional, competitive and unique Under 23 league.  YPL ELITE23 will begin play June 2023.  YPL clubs, as well as select clubs outside the YPL in 2023 will compete.

YPL ELITE23 will provide former and current YPL players and current collegiate players an opportunity to find professional, meaningful training as well as superior competition during the summer months, (during their off-season) all while preparing them for a successful collegiate season in the fall.

“The YPL continues to be the progressive league in the country by adding ELITE23 to its player development pyramid,” said Mayowa Owolabi, YPL President.

ELITE23 becomes the apex of the YPL Player Development Pathway.  Clubs that participate in the YPL now extend the long-term developmental opportunities for soccer players ages eight through 23, and older.

Unique to YPL ELITE23 will be the use of up to five over-23 players that will allow for former professional players to join and become role models for the next generation of players.

ELITE23 will culminate with Division Champions and the ELITE23 Championships in July.  Clubs will play up to seven division matches.  Division champions will earn playoff spots into the ELITE23 Championships.   The Championships will be hosted by YPL clubs and will be rotated annually.
